Tyler Tran, ACSW, received his Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from California State University of Long Beach. Prior to joining the clinical staff at OCD Center of Los Angeles, Tyler was a mental health therapist serving adults at Mental Health America of Los Angeles (MHALA). While there, Tyler provided clinical therapy to adults struggling with depression, anxiety, substance use, trauma, and grief. In addition, Tyler has provided individual and family therapy to children and families at Western Youth Services. Tyler has been trained under the Beck Institute for CBT and has completed trainings for EMDR. Tyler also volunteered at Crisis Text Line as a crisis counselor, where he provided emotional support and crisis intervention to individuals experiencing mental health emergencies. Tyler’s work at the OCD Center of Los Angeles focuses on Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for all different types of OCD, including all “Pure O” variants such as HOCD, POCD, ROCD, and Harm OCD. Tyler also currently leads our Wednesday evening low-fee therapy/support group for adults with OCD, and our Thursday evening low-fee therapy/support group for adults with Social Anxiety. Prior to entering the counseling field, Tyler earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the California State University of Fullerton. Tyler is a registered Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW) with the Board of Behavioral Services.
