Emmily Hovhannisyan, ACSW, received her master’s degree in social work (MSW) from the University of Southern California. Prior to joining the clinical staff at the OCD Center of Los Angeles, Emmily was a therapist at USC Counseling and Mental Health, providing mental health services to a diverse population of young adults experiencing OCD, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, suicide risk, and trauma. Prior to working at USC CMH, Emmily provided counseling services to transitional age youth at the YouthBuild Charter School of California. In addition to her clinical work, Emmily spent several years as a research associate at the University of California, Los Angeles researching neurostimulation for treatment-resistant OCD and depression. Her work at the OCD Center of Los Angeles focuses on evidence-based treatment, specifically Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for all subtypes of OCD, including POCD, ROCD, Harm OCD, and Scrupulosity OCD. Emmily is a registered Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW) with the Board of Behavioral Sciences. Before pursuing a career in the field of counseling, Emmily earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from UCLA.
